Rinse a shaver head open, every time
Ten seconds under a warm tap with the head open, then leave it open to dry. Soap and skin residue packed into a cutter is friction the motor has to fight.

Wash a dryer filter every fortnight
Twist the ring off, rinse it, shake it, let it dry completely before it goes back. A loaded filter reads as weak airflow and hot-feeling air.

Oil a clipper blade every fifth cut
Two drops along the teeth with the clipper running, then wipe the excess. Steel on steel without oil wears both surfaces in weeks.

Replace foil and cutter as a matched set
They wear into each other. A new foil against an old cutter pulls worse than the pair you just took out.

Let everything dry before it goes in a case
A sealed case with a damp head in it is the one place corrosion starts on a washable tool.
